Q: I offered Hajj last year and observed all its obligatory acts including Ihram (ritual state for Hajj or `Umrah), Tawaf-ul-Qudum (circumambulation of the Ka`bah on arrival in Makkah) and other acts. I delayed Tawaf-ul-Ifadah (final obligatory circumambulation of the Ka`bah in Hajj) to perform it with Tawaf-ul-Wada` (circumambulation of the Ka`bah on leaving Makkah) because we live in
Makkah Al-Mukarramah.
On the twelfth day of Dhul-Hajjah, I fell extremely ill and could not perform the Tawaf. I went home and after I got well I bled for 15 days. Then, after I was pure of my period, I had sexual intercourse with my husband and a few days later I remembered that I did not complete my Hajj. I asked about the ruling on my case and I was told that I have to (Part No. 10; Page No. 222) offer `Umrah and perform Tawaf-ul-Ifadah after that. I did what they said but am I charged with anything else?
A:
If the reality is what you mentioned, you are required to observe the ransom which is a sheep meeting the same conditions for Ud-hiyah (sacrificial animal offered by non-pilgrims) to be slaughtered and distributed among the poor people of
Makkah
in expiation of having sexual intercourse before offering Tawaf-ul-Ifadah (final obligatory circumambulation of the Ka`bah in Hajj). In Sha' Allah (if Allah wills), your Hajj is valid and you are not asked for Tawaf-ul-Wada` (circumambulation of the Ka`bah on leaving Makkah) for you are from
the people of Makkah. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
